Newfoundland Wanderings

August 25 to September 18, 2014

Yes, we saw rocky coastlines just as the Newfoundland advertisements promise and we thoroughly enjoyed several traditional Folk Music performances. We were too late to see icebergs but we did spot a few whales on our ferry crossings. We hiked several of the great hiking trails and had our fill of freshly caught seafood and picked our heart’s content of wild berries, but it is the Newfoundlanders themselves who made our visit special. The towns are like small towns in Canada and the US many years ago where nobody locks their door and everyone gives you a friendly greeting when they meet you on the street.
